DESCRIPTION:Success Success with crochet: turning chains\, stitch counts\, patterns and charts – and make a bookmark. \n\n\n\nThere are two things that often frustrate the would-be crocheter: the dreaded turning chain\, and correctly counting your stitches. These are often the root cause of problems\, preventing people from making progress and from building their confidence. \n\n\n\nIf this sounds familiar\, this workshop with Anna will help you. We’ll look at: \n\n\n\n\nthree basic stitches\n\n\n\nhow to use turning chains with these three stitches so you can work rows accurately\n\n\n\ncounting your stitches correctly\n\n\n\nworking from a written-out pattern\n\n\n\nworking from a chart\n\n\n\nchoosing a stitch and making yourself a bookmark to consolidate your skills.\n\n\n\n\nWhat you need to know before this session\n\n\n\nMake sure you know how to make a simple chain\, as that is the basic starting point for all stitches. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\n\n\n\nDK (or thicker) yarn – please choose single-colour yarn in a medium or light colour as this will make it easier to see your stitches.\n\n\n\nAvoid yarn with a significant fluffy ‘halo’; you might want to use cotton or bamboo for an ultra-clear stitch appearance.\n\n\n\nA hook in the right size for your yarn (see ball band)\n\n\n\nStitch markers\n\n\n\nScissors\n\n\n\nTapestry needle\n\n\n\nPen and paper
