Activating your Sheep account

All members of the Knitting & Crochet Guild who joined before 30 November 2020 have an account in Sheep. We transferred your information from our old system to Sheep, but you will still need to activate your account.

Activating your account is a simple process. The numbers on the images below correspond to the numbered step in the instructions.

  1. Go to the Sheep self-service website:
You must use an up-to-date web browser or you may not be able to activate your account. This is to protect your personal information. Please do not use Internet Explorer. A list of Supported browsers is shown at the end of these instructions.

  2. Type the email address you use for the Knitting & Crochet Guild into the box.

  3. Select GET STARTED.

    • If, instead of the page above, below Register an Account with Knitting & Crochet Guild it says Thanks for your interest. We couldn't find you in our system, please do not fill in your details on that page. Instead, click the link to go back and make sure you are using the email address that you use for the Knitting & Crochet Guild. If you are sure you are using the correct email address, please contact before continuing.
    • If instead of the page above, a page opens asking for your password, you have either already activated your account or you are a member of another organisation that also uses Sheep to manage its membership. Enter your password if you remember it, or request a reset link (which sends you an email similar to the one in the next step).
The following page is then shown. If you want, you can close the browser.

Boxes for entering the security code.
  5. Check your email for the 6-digit code. If you can't find it, check your spam/junk folders.

The email containing the code and the link.
  6. Click the link in the email, which will open the web page again for entering the 6-digit code.

  7. Enter the security code from the email and click SUBMIT CODE.

  8. Type a password. To check that you have typed what you think you have typed, click the eye icon on the right of the password box.

    Setting your password.
  9. Click SET PASSWORD.

You now have access to your account and can check and update your information. You can come back and login with your email address and password at any time.

Update your details

Please check your personal details. See Check and update your personal details for information on why we need some of the information, and some important points about giving the name associated with your tax record and your home address if you are able to Gift Aid your subscription and any donations.

Renewing your membership

If you have recently renewed using some method other than Sheep, please do not renew again. We may still be manually entering renewals that have happened in the last few weeks.

Memberships that are within a few weeks of renewal and can be renewed now are shown in orange:

Memberships that have lapsed are in red. These can also be renewed now as long as you have not already renewed in some other way.

Gift Aid

The previous system recorded limited information relating to Gift Aid. We only knew that a declaration existed and when it was signed. We rely on paper records (either paper Gift Aid forms or printouts of the emails generated for the membership team when you joined from the website). Some of these are quite old now. We want to move away from these to improve security and efficiency.

For that reason, we have not imported previous Gift Aid information but instead we are asking everyone who is able to Gift Aid their subscriptions and donations to complete the online form available in Sheep. As you do this yourself while you are logged in to the system, this is a valid Gift Aid declaration, and means we can use the reports available in Sheep to generate and submit our claim to HMRC.

We will be collecting updated paper Gift Aid declarations from those who do not have online access to Sheep.
