81. Pink halter-neck mini-dress
This dress was crocheted from Patons leaflet 6249, published in 1969. The leaflet describes it as “Swingy little discotheque dress which longs to go dancing. Prettily crocheted in a trendy yarn, with a short flirty skirt and a mini top.” It was a garment for teenagers - the leaflet gives instructions for sizes 33-36ins/84–92cms bust. The one in the Knitting & Crochet Guild Collection is even smaller than the smallest size in the leaflet, the bust measuring approximately 29ins/74cms and 25ins/64cms in length. It has a halter neck top, fastened with a crochet-covered button at the back of the neck. The suggested yarn is a Courtelle Crepe, equivalent to a 4-ply.
