About the workshop leader

I got my first knitting machine in 1982, having drooled over them in the local department store for some months. I couldn’t afford a new one, so mine was a second-hand Brother KH830 – and many people still knit on those today. Fast forward over 40 years, and I now have 4 very different ones permanently set up, and more yarn than I know what to do with. I borrow two machines from my local branch for Convention, and have 3 others that people have given me for ‘teaching and demonstrating’ purposes. Although machine-knitting is my ‘design’ medium, I also hand-knit and crochet (and have ben doing both of those for much longer).
