If you're looking for cooler ways to get your craft fix when it’s too hot to knit or crochet:

Take a look at the Knitting & Crochet Guild's online catalogue. It's free for all to view and showcases the objects held in the Guild's Collection.
Plan to visit one of the Collection Open Days later in the year – the remaining dates for 2025 are 16 September and 8 November.
Add to your stash by buying vintage yarn from the Guild's Etsy shop. You can find out more about how the shop came about here.

Jane Crowfoot and Stitchtopia at our Collection

The team at Britannia Mill were delighted to welcome our patron Jane Crowfoot and a Stitchtopia tour party to the Collection on Thursday 26th June 2025. The party was split into two groups for tours in our paper store (books and publications) and the "deep store" for our textile items, tools and gadgets, shade cards and yarn samples. Jane had designed a colourwork mitt for her workshops as part of the tour so we gathered Fair Isle items from our Coats/Patons donation, examples of stranded knitting made from patterns designed by Kaffe Fassett and Patricia Roberts and intarsia ...
