Westbury Yarn Bombers – Creating Joy • Raising Funds • Making a Difference. Everyone Welcome!
Description
Westbury Yarn Bombers is an independent, volunteer-led knitting and crochet community group founded in 2022 in Westbury, Wiltshire.
We bring people together through creativity, colourful public yarn art, community projects and charitable fundraising. We are a community art group.
Our activities include charity support such as memory hearts , Marie Curie daffodils, hot water bottle covers, random acts of crochet kindness, seasonal and fundraising postbox toppers, yarn installations, Christmas displays, community celebrations and large-scale Remembrance tributes.
We welcome knitters and crocheters of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced makers. Volunteers can participate from home, wherever they live, or join our occasional gatherings and installation days.
There are no compulsory meetings, deadlines or expectations. Everyone contributes in their own way and at their own pace. We aim to encourage creativity, friendship, inclusion and positive mental wellbeing.
We provide yarn, patterns and guidance whenever possible, and love helping people discover new skills.
Whether you enjoy knitting, crochet, machine knitting or simply want to be part of something creative and meaningful, we would love to welcome you.
Creating Joy • Raising Funds • Making a Difference.
Cost: Free. Yarn and materials provided whenever possible.
Meeting dates
We are a flexible, community-based group rather than a traditional weekly knitting circle. Volunteers work on projects from home at their own pace, and we organise occasional informal gatherings, workshops and community installation days in Westbury. Dates, times and locations are announced through our Facebook page. Attendance is always optional.
