Patons Aran Book was published in 1968, following the introduction of Capstan yarn in 1965. It has around a dozen patterns for adults and children – mostly sweaters and cardigans, with some accessories too. The booklet was very successful – according to a reprint issued a year or two later, more than a million copies had been sold.
