The Great British Fibre Festival – 1-2 June 2024
1 June @ 10:00 am – 2 June @ 5:00 pm
The Great British Fibre Festival, which will take place in June 2024 is a farm to fashion show.
As the Fibre Quest venture divides and multiplies you will see The Great British Fibre Festival at Coldharbour Mill at Uffculme in Devon at a new time of year, next year will be June 1st & 2nd. This is to make sure we can welcome more wool producers who will have finished lambing. The GBFF will be a fabulous yarn show with a twist celebrating British sustainable yarn with a focus on ethical production and the full farm to fashion journey.
For those that don’t know, Coldharbour MIll is one of the oldest woollen mills in the UK having been in continuous production since 1797. Originally owned by world-renowned textile producers Fox Brothers, the Mill took fleece from all over the world and transformed it into yarn, cloth and textiles. Today the rich heritage lives on as one of the finest working wool museums where visitors are not just able to relive the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution but also see craftsmen and women making traditional textiles, knitting yarn and hand woven rugs. A show ticket will include entry to everything the Mill has to offer as well as wonderful exhibitors, demos, talks and more so it will be a wonderful show to visit. As plans for the show unfold over the coming months, we will as usual release news and interesting things on our social media channels and will send a monthly email newsletter summing these up as well.
The show will be easily accessed by road – a few minutes from the M5 and also by rain to Tiverton Parkway from where we will provide a shuttle. Find out more about the Mill at www.coldharbourmill.org.uk
