To allow more of you to visit regularly, the Collection team are now opening the doors to Britannia Mill on the first Saturday of the month in 2023.
Update: See our Open Days page for the latest information on Open Days and Drop-in days.
The Saturday openings are a trial and will run for the rest of 2023. Do come along on the following dates to meet the team and find out more about what they do.
- Saturday 7 October, 10am-2pm
- Saturday 4 November, 10am-2pm
- Saturday 2 December, 10am-2pm
Visiting the Collection is a great way to find out more about the objects we house and care for, to be inspired and meet some of our volunteers.
Our next full Open Day is in November, where a selection of different objects from the Collection will be on display for you to see.
- Saturday 11 November, 10am-2pm*, which coincides with the yarn and garment sale at Spectrum (Stylecraft) Yarns
All of these sessions are free to attend, drop-in events, and members and non-members are welcome. Our knowledgeable volunteers will share a behind-the-scenes look into caring for these wonderful items. Please note the Collection is on the First Floor, and access is via steps and stairs with no disabled access. Information on how to get to Britannia Mill, Slaithwaite (near Huddersfield, Yorkshire) can be found here on our website.
* The opening hours are different to those previously advertised, finishing at the earlier time of 2pm. Please plan your visit accordingly.
