Rainbow Jumper with long or short sleeves
The colour work in this design is done by slipping a stitch and carrying it over several rows knitted in another colour.
This 1940s pattern was evidently very popular at the time, judging by the number of copies that have survived, and is a favourite of vintage knitters.
There is a short-sleeved jumper made to this pattern in the Guild collection (item 2018.000.0017), though it was knitted in rayon rather than wool.
