Jacket designed by Richard Rutt for Rowan, and offered as a free pattern in the Sunday Times magazine in 1984.
Richard Rutt wrote ‘A History of Hand Knitting’ (1987) and is shown wearing this jacket on the book’s dust jacket. He was the Bishop of Leicester from 1979 to 1980 and was well-known as the ‘knitting bishop’. For may years, he was President of the Knitting & Crochet Guild, and after he died in 2011, Rowan kindly gave the Guild permission to make copies of the pattern, in his memory.
