We will spend a short time looking at the history of Bohus knitting on the west coast of Sweden in the 1940s.

  • Investigate techniques
  • Create a swatch adapting stranded knitting patterns.
  • Look at using the technique in different yarn weights.

I am a member the Huddersfield branch of the Guild and have been part of the Collections Team since 2010. I assist with Trunk Shows, talks and workshops for branches and local groups.

After visiting Sweden I became particularly interested in Bohus knitting techniques and have adapted several patterns to knit in this style using a range of yarn weights.

  • Paper and coloured pencils for designing patterns you might like to try to adapt.
  • Suitable different (solid) coloured yarns
  • Needles appropriate for stranded knitting with your chosen yarn
