If you wish to leave a legacy to the Knitting & Crochet Guild in your will, we recommend you take legal advice. However, the following may be helpful.
The wording must specify the amount you wish to leave, our full name and registered address, and our charity number. For example:
I give the gift of £___ to the Knitting & Crochet Guild, Part 1st Floor Britannia Mill, Britannia Road, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, HD7 5HE (registered charity number 1113468) for its general charitable purposes. A receipt from the Chair or other office bearer of the charity shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said gift.
We have suggested the words “general charitable purposes” as this enables us to use any gift where it is of most benefit. However, if you particularly want to support the Collection, then please add something similar to: “and request that the gift be used, if possible, to support the Guild’s Collection”.
