Description

Sketches, yarn and pencils

This workshop aims to get you going making knitted or crochet fabrics that are unique to you.

Starting with images or ‘things’ and perhaps some coloured pencils and paper, you’ll use your inspiration to dream up yarns and stitches (knit or crochet) to make an individual fabric of your very own.

Most of all, collect yarns that you might want to use as they will guide what you think up. Perhaps a bit of stash busting at the same time?

We will be using:

  • Inspiration: Pictures – scraps of papers – and pebbles, flowers etc …..
  • Selloptape or glue stick might be useful, also scissors
  • Bring a selection of yarns – small balls of what you have in your stash .. or are particularly inspired by …. Or want to get rid of ….
  • A  good range of yarns to try out stitches will need a selection of hook and needle sizes so if you have a set that ranges in size that is ideal.

NOTE: this workshop will be suitable for hand knitters or crocheters ……

A stitch dictionary might be a useful thing to bring – knit or crochet.
