Buy vintage yarn – support the Knitting & Crochet Guild

Did you know the Knitting & Crochet Guild has an Etsy shop selling vintage yarn?

The Guild has been left a substantial yarn stash by a member and now it’s available for you to buy – with all proceeds going towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Guild, including its Collection.

If you would like to add this vintage yarn to your stash, head over to the Guild’s Etsy shop where you can browse the current listings. If there’s a particular yarn you’re interested in, do message us through Etsy or direct at sales@kcguild.org.uk to enquire about it as we may have what you’re looking for. Go to KnittingCrochetGuild.etsy.com or search for ‘knitting crochet guild’ on Etsy (either on the website or in the app) to find the shop.

FAQs

Where did the yarn come from?

The yarn was left to us by Gertrude Kuehl, who had been a member of the Guild for a number of years.

Where can I buy it from?

Head over to Etsy (website or app) and search for ‘knitting crochet guild’ or click on this link > KnittingCrochetGuild.etsy.com

What is available to buy?

There is a substantial yarn stash to work through and only a small amount of yarn will be available from the Etsy shop at any time, this is just because of the time it takes Deborah, our volunteer managing this, to photograph and list the items. If there’s a particular yarn brand, weight, shade, etc, that you’re looking for, please message Deborah via Etsy or at sales@kcguild.org.uk and she’ll check for you.

Who can buy the yarn?

Anyone can buy the yarn; it’s available for members, non-members, supporters of the Guild, or people who have never heard of us before and are interested in buying vintage yarn.

Where do you ship to?

We currently only send orders to addresses in the UK.

How much yarn is there?

125 boxes (now in 24 black bin liners), 150,000g, over 4,000 balls of varying weights, from 2ply to chunky!
