When you share your screen in a video conferencing session, what you are showing usually does not change very often (for example, most PowerPoint slides are on the screen for several seconds, or even minutes). Zoom, and other video conferencing systems, know this and only send the screen infrequently to reduce the load on the internet connections of all the participants. Videos update the screen 25-30 times a second, so you need to tell your video conferencing system how to do this.
Zoom and other video conferencing systems do not share the bleeps and other noises made by your computer with other meeting participants. When you are sharing a video or audio clip, the whole point is that the other participants can hear it, so you need to tell the system to pass the sound on.
This page explains how to do this using Zoom on a PC. Other video conferencing systems will need you to do the same tasks, but will use different menu items, buttons or checkboxes to achieve the same result. Apple computers have a different way of adjusting the volume of your computer sound.
