Patons Helps to Knitters IX (1d)

Knitted coats and caps.

Paton’s started to publish ‘Helps to Knitters’ pattern leaflets a few years before the First World War. This leaflet and others in the series were advertised in 1912.

Long knitted jackets for women, worn for sports or casual wear, were popular in the 1910s – the young woman on the cover is dressed to go for a walk, and the woman wearing the other outfit in the leaflet is shown with a golf club.
