Marjorie is 91 years old and was taught to knit when she was 5. In her teens, she learned crochet by herself. Since then, she has been teaching others informally and in schools. Currently Marjorie runs her own group, “Knit with Marjorie”, in Bromley and she is a longstanding member of East London Crochet Group. Marjorie has been a member of the Guild since 1984. Interesting fat about Marjorie: in 1986, there was a competition to design and knit a creative toy. Her toy won and was auctioned for £700 for Save the Children funds. She has a photograph of Princess Anne presenting her with the award.
