Leader: Kelly Ferguson
Craft: Crochet, Machine Knitting
Experience: Basic crochet skills
Summary: Mosaic crochet is a technique that uses two or more colours of yarn to create intricate colorwork patterns. We will be learning the overlay technique which involves working on the front only and changing colours every row creating a textured look.
Description

During the workshop we will be learning the difference between overlay and inset mosaic crochet, how to create designs using the overlay mosaic crochet technique and how to read mosaic crochet charts.
There will be an option of two charts to follow and we will produce a panel of mosaic crochet.
If time allows, we will look at how to create an envelope border to encase those multitude of ends and avoid the dreaded sewing in.
About the leader

I have been with the Knitting & Crochet Guild around seven years after learning about the Guild at a Spring into Wool.
I am the Branch Co-Ordinator for the Leeds Central Branch often leading workshops at branch meetings and for other branches.
Along with my husband I have developed the Yorkshire Button Templates in a box and travel the country delivering workshops.
Whilst able to knit and crochet, my preference is for crochet, especially Mosaic and Tunisian and I have created some fabulous Afghans using the Mosaic technique
