Summary: This workshop introduces raised (or round-the-post) crochet stitches that can be used to create highly textured fabrics such as ribs and embossed work. Alongside crossed stitches, they also form the basis of the crochet cable stitches we will look at.
Description
This workshop offers an opportunity to learn how raised and crossed stitches form cables. You will come away with two or three swatches of raised, crossed and cable stitches, having explored the mechanics of these difficult-to-describe techniques.
It is hoped that after this workshop, you will have gained the confidence to explore a whole new world of crochet cables patterns.
About the leader
I am a qualified Textiles teacher with a wealth of experience instructing crochet to adults from absolute beginners to advanced levels.
My crochet articles and designs have long featured in Inside Crochet and Crochet Now magazines and I am the author of ‘Popcorns, Bobbles and Puffs to crochet’ published by Quarto.
