Bath Branch – From farm to wardrobe with Marina Skua- 14 Nov 2026
14 November @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

You might have heard about the idea of ‘farm to table’: tracing our food from where it’s grown, processed and packaged before reaching our kitchens. In this talk, Marina will explore the concept of ‘farm to wardrobe’ and making knitwear and textiles in a slower, more considered way to benefit people and planet.
She will talk about her own journey in craft and bring examples of her professional and personal projects – from knitwear designs in commercial yarns to zero-waste garments that she has carded, spun, woven and sewn herself – and discuss how the processes and connections involved create items that are meaningful and anti-fast-fashion.
Marina says:
‘I’m a knitwear designer, yarn and fibre dyer, and British wool advocate based in Wiltshire. I hand-dye single-flock yarn from local farms, and take inspiration from nature and history for my knitting designs.
My first knitting pattern was released in 2016 and my designs have been published by Laine, John Arbon Textiles, Making Stories, The Knitter and The Fibre Company amongst others.
I also process fibre, and spin and weave yarn for my personal projects in my home studio, and share these on my YouTube channel.’
You can read more about Marina’s work on her website: https://marinaskua.com
Marina will have yarn and knitting patterns for sale after her talk.
Bring a notebook if you’d like to make any notes, and perhaps a project to work on while you listen to Marina.
