The Knitting & Crochet Guild has branches throughout the UK.
Members get together locally for a range of social and informal activities as well as more formal events such as workshops and study sessions and to organise shows. The information listed below is now available on our new interactive map just click in the top right hand corner to enlarge the map and you'll find instructions on how to use the map down the left hand side.
Setting up new branches
Where there is currently no local branch there is an opportunity for members to start one and bring together enthusiasts for knitting and crochet. The Guild will advise you how to set up a local branch and we can help contact other members who may be local. In areas where our membership is widely dispersed we are inviting members to join "virtual branches" where members can keep in contact by letter, phone, email or Skype. Please contact our Membership Secretary for more information by email

East London Crochet Group - Ilford
The East London Crochet Group first went public in September 2000, although it existed around the kitchen table for a long time before that, exploring Double Filet crochet with a number of colleagues and friends, so it has always been a specialist crochet group, existing alongside the London Group which we also supported. Our membership is correspondingly scattered, coming from as far as Warwickshire and even Fort William but with a strong local core.
Workshops are designed to provide projects for all levels of competence, from an ability to work trebles and chains upwards.
We meet 4 times a year at St. Mary's in Ilford and the inspiration for 2018 comes from places on the original route of the Orient Express, 1st December Istanbul. Our annual Residential Workshop at Belsey Bridge Conference Centre in August each year continues the chosen theme.
Cost of each day workshop (10am till 4pm) at St Mary's in Ilford is £15 which includes, tea, coffee, biscuits etc, please bring your own packed lunch.
The Double Filet website also has more information.
Please contact Nic Walker for further details, Tel: 07734 581 345 or email
'Crochet, Chat, Coffee, Cake … with extra Knit and Natter' is a crochet and knitting group in central Manchester and is hosted on the social networking website, www.meetup.com.
The group was founded in February 2015 and has grown from strength to strength and has just registered as a fully fledged Guild branch. Unlike the majority of knit and natter groups that meet during the day, we meet on the 2nd Saturday morning and the last Thursday evening every month, so it's perfect if you work 9 to 5.
The aim of the group is to get together with like-minded people to crochet and knit, have a chat with new friends, learn new stitches and share our love of all things woolly.
Absolute beginners are always welcome and there is always someone who can teach you the basics.
There is a one-off £2 fee to join the group which is used to cover the six-monthly Meetup hosting fee. More details about registration and attending our events can be found on our Meetup page
New branch in the North West will hold it's meetings at Vees Place (PLC Activities Club) 80 Kemble Street, Prescot, L34 5SF.
