KCG Branches

The Knitting & Crochet Guild has branches throughout the UK.

Members get together locally for a range of social and informal activities as well as more formal events such as workshops and study sessions and to organise shows. The information listed below is now available on our interactive map choose whether you want to see Branches, Local Groups or Yarn Shops using the options on the left hand side. If you have difficulty accessing the map, check which browser you are using. Chrome can be problematic. Safari and Firefox are better.

Setting up new branches

Where there is currently no local branch there is an opportunity for members to start one and bring together enthusiasts for knitting and crochet. The Guild will advise you how to set up a local branch and we can help contact other members who may be local. In areas where our membership is widely dispersed we are inviting members to join "virtual branches" where members can keep in contact by letter, phone, email or Skype. Please contact our Branch Liaison team for more information by email.

Updating Branch information

Please send the Branch Information form to our Branch Liaison team (available in editable docx format or pdf format).

A note on copyright

Now that we are starting to have branch meetings in person again, many of us will be keen to show others our work and perhaps share patterns for our favourite projects. If you want to do this, please bear in mind that photocopying a pattern, whether in a book or magazine or obtained online, and giving that copy to someone else is a breach of copyright. It also deprives designers of their hard-earned income. If you want access to a wider selection of patterns, do bear in mind that there is a vast number of them available free to Guild members from the Guild’s Collection.

Ilford

East London Crochet Group

Meetings are curently held online.

The East London Crochet Group first went public in September 2000, although it existed around the kitchen table for a long time before that, exploring Double Filet crochet with a number of colleagues and friends, so it has always been a specialist crochet group, existing alongside the London Group which we also supported. Our membership is correspondingly scattered, coming from as far as Warwickshire and even Fort William but with a strong local core. Workshops are designed to provide projects for all levels of competence, from an ability to work trebles and chains upwards. Each year the meetings have a theme. That theme is continued in their annual Residential Workshop at Besley Bridge Conference Centre held in August.
